Well, for what it's worth, I've watched both of the semis and my predictions for the top four are below.

I reckon the winner will be San Marino, with Flo Rida's rapping just giving them the edge over other nations:

If the UK weren't one of the big five, we'd not be getting to the finals.
Andy Stewart or Kenneth McKellar, Corby?
Didn't know about that, Chris...I reckon Scotland would have a very good chance of winning.

For TCL ;-)

Even though both of them are long dead, either of them could do better than the latest attempt...

I think Mr Switzerland is going to have a hangover this morning.
Thank goodness we haven’t got to listen to
Graham Norton say”I’ve got a good feeling about this year” again.
UK did well to come last as I predicted in a previous post..lol.
He looked like a tramp AND couldn't sing.
i confess i never watch it, its too OTT for my tastes.
You can hardly blame Brexit for our ssip poor performances in the Eurovision song Contest given we got our first 'Nul Points' back in 2003. The Iraq invasion is more to blame than leaving the EU. That plus some terrible songs, of course.
At one point Graham Norton mentioned that the songs had been on radio throughout Europe for some weeks. I wonder whether there is selective playing. I watched the first semi and changed my mind on a few of the songs after hearing them a second time. Maybe they shouldn't be heard until the semi finals. I think it's time for us to take our money and walk away.
I couldnt get my head round the popular vote. How could about five countries get no points?
I'd say the opposite: play them all the time and you'll soon see which ones have staying power.

You can't really keep them a secret. When Sandie Shaw won, she'd tried out one song each week on the Rolf Harris hour on TV and took an audience vote on which one to take to Eurovision.

>>> I couldnt get my head round the popular vote. How could about five countries get no points?

The way it works, Roopower, is that each country allocates points to the songs in the same that its jury has already done, with the most popular song gaining 12 points, the second most popular getting 10 and then going down from 8 to 1 points for the 3rd to 10th most popular. The points from all 39 countries that have voted are then added together to produce the totals.

So, in order for a country in the final to get at least one point, it must get ranked within the top ten most popular songs with at least one nation that votes. If every single voting country ranks a song in 11th place (i.e. everyone thinks that it at least deserves a 'top half' ranking), it will still end up with zero points because it's only 'top ten' songs that can ever be awarded any.
