Nhs App And Covid Injection Confirmation For Travel.

I have been led to believe, if you can show proof of having the 2 covid injections, you don’t need to have a PCR negative test result, for traveling to certain countries. I have also heard if you get the NHS app to your phone, you can get a download of your medical history inc proof of covid vaccine injections. Trouble is I live in Wales and the app is not applicable to us here. I’ve even phoned my local health board, havn’t managed to talk to a human, and havn’t had a reply to the message I left. Anyone in the same position. Any info. Thanks.

another issue. several colleagues have downloaded the NHS, only to find that they can't get it to work. this is because their GP practices don't subscribe to the NHS app, but to a rival (other Apps are available, it seems), called "Airmid". it performs the same basic functions but has no interface with the Covid vaccine database. GPs are essentially private contractors rather than NHS employees so can employ whichever digital solution they like - or indeed none at all.

mushroom - im not sure it's a "government idea" (well having an app that shows some medical detils is but that's an old idea unrelated to covid)
The official advicde is that you need PCR tests

mushroom, I am not sure why that should be a problem unless they people had their vac via the GP route....as to whether its (covid status) is needed for anything...that will depend on others and not on the government. I belive the eventual idea, if its needed, will be that covid test data will be shown on it too. I find the NHS app per se very useful, but then my GP surgery uses it. I suspect that in future, govt might say to GP's that if they want to keep their contracts then they must use compliant tech....I blooming would!

urrently it doesnt really matter if bob can get the app/a certificate or not - theres no use for it except for interest

I rang 119 to ask for certifiate of vaccination and was told that they will certianly send them but not until 4 weeks before travelling!
