My husbands just had his bike nicked and needless to say, he's really p**sed off. I know there's a really small chance of getting it back, but that won't stop us trying. Can anyone suggest where to start? What do thieves do with bikes once they've acquired them? How do they get rid of them? Any help greatly appreciated.

well...being a bike theif i would spray it a different colour and sell it on in the local paper...or failing that I would throw it in the canal with the shopping trollies...
could try to sell it at boot sale, or if their really stupid put it on Ebay!! How thick would they look. Ha Ha.
the trouble nowadays is that the bike has probably been sold for a tenner!! or what ever heroin costs nowadays??
if it was on my estate the scum would probably be stripping it down and re spraying it, then selling it on for 50 to buy some weed and cider. Sorry to sound so cynical but mine was stolen recently too and I unfortunately know of the sort that might do this type of thing. really hope you find it. Good Luck.
