Dave50 - I suspect there was a valid reason for not calling the police at the beginning (apart from the fact that the series would have ended at episode one).
I think they were scared to confess as it was unlcear what part they played in death and if that was criminal, and one of them was on probation.
I didn't understand why they went for the blackmail though, I would have called heir bluff because if there had been someone else there it they would have been as involved in the death as they were!
I've not been too keen on The Pact, it seemed a bit dull and slow but I tend to be a bit like 'I've started so I'll finish' and after last night's ending I'll stick with it, quite a surprise.
Lot of dead wood in it (way too long) just padding for no reason other than to fill in time ie wild panic over drunken teenager. Car journeys, helpless glances, walks across car parks. Yet a casual air when life savings of £4.5k vanish. Life savings ? How much do they pay cops out there in free Wales? £1 a week? And if you have not worked it all out by now then never darken Poirot's door again mon ami.
