What a fantastic 12 days, the weather has been top notch. Where have I been? everywhere I could possibly get in 12 days, almost a different location by the day, night times in the middle of nowhere sleeping within beautiful locations, the peace and quiet was deafening. It was that warm on two particular nights I went to sleep outside with just an insect net overhead, not done that since I was younger. Its great just to get up next morning and move on, no booking, no hassle, just turn up when and where you want, stop the night or move on to somewhere else.

The food to buy round those parts is great , fresh eggs, freshly picked strawberry's, and the quality of the meat is out of this world. Stopped at a few out of the way pubs for a nice change from cooking, and again the food served up was first class. Best holiday I've ever had. Now back for 2/3 weeks then I'm looking at Scotland, that's if its still open? not seen much news while away. I know your all glad to have me back?? :0)

15.30 "if you can't hack it don't start it".
But (Anneasquith} didn't start it Naomi, you did
@ 12.59.
Welcome back Teacake you were missed on A/B.
Sounds like a lovely time teacake. You were lucky with the weather let's hope you have an equally good time wherever you go next.
I hope you manage to to Scotland next, sure you'll love it.

Maybe Naomi has seen number 2s being dropped off in her village when she's peeping through the curtains during the day. :0))))
I don’t expect you to read threads or to understand them, Gulliver. You’re forgiven your errors.

Got to get my hols in before the grand kids break up has the two daughters want to use it for theirs Mam. Scotland can be either very good or very bad me thinks, but eh oh who cares, just means taking warmer clobber or more waterproofs.

It sounded lovely, envious of your freedom Teacake
15.54 Get off your high horse for once Naomi.
I think you owe Anneasquith an apology.

zyla, it was lovely, but its funny how its also very nice to get back to your own home and bed ( strange that? :0) Have been to Scotland before Mamyalynne stopped at the Dunkeld House Hotel for four nights, very nice, and also very welcoming, I did enjoy it, but a little to up market for me. :0) Don't like timetables for coming and going.
16.01 Nothing changed on A/B while you were away Teacake, just the usual insults from the usual Radicalised Boris supporters.

Looks like Boris and Hancock have hacked a plan, make it a real pain to get away on holiday and they will have to stop in the UK to spend their cash. Three months ago Hancock was promising get the jab, and have a great summer.
Of course we are, teacake. I grew-up in the Aire valley and lived around there until 2000, so the Dales were my back garden -- I was so very lucky, but never really understood how lucky at the time. Very glad you have discovered just why Yorkshire is so glorious.

East Riding, where I now live, would be another eye-opener - most people drive straight past (thank goodness).

We have a cottage booked in the Scottish Borders for mid September, between Selkirk and Hawick. It's a beautiful area and we try to get up every year.
i honestly dont think you are correct in saying that teacake - MH has ALWAYS bee cautious https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56022858
Gosh Teacake -you were picking your own strawberries in North Yorkshire -where? Please do tell.....lol!
cesspits in Yorkshire, surely not? but that may explain why Settle is called Settle?
Teacake, know you mean about your own bed. We are in an hotel in Buckingham hotel ready to go to Bletchley Park tomorrow, very looking forward to it
DT, it's called Settle because it takes a while for your heart to regulate after a night on the bevvy then climbing Constitution Hill to go home.
