Straight out of teacher training I was sent in to replace an Oxford graduate - who had lasted precisely 10 days.
About 10 years later, when on a term's 'Supply' basis after having children, a very confident young man arrived (Phd. Camb. and lots of lecturing experience.) to talk to the whole year 10 group re. geography, African culture etc.. He refused to have staff in the lecture hall - it would stifle him apparently. We hung around outside and after 15 mins he ran out and screamed that they were throwing assegais at him (he'd passed some around for verisimilitude). We said 'Throw them back at them!' shoved him back in the room and waited for 1 min. before entering and restoring order!
Outside that sort of situation the answer to the OP would be no, not in my experience.
