Oboviously you've discovered the major side-effect of drinking too much alcohol - it erodes the balance mechanisms in your ears, that's why you can;t walk straight when you've had a few. And you've also discovered the major benefit that follows the erosion of said balance mechanisms, the next day, two little men arrive with huge hammers and chisels, and...

Back in the day, my 'hangovers' lasted for days. But that's because my 'sessions' lasted for days. And they weren't really hangovers, per se, more 'cold turkey'. Nowadays, apart from the odd shot of Martell in the evenings, i very rarely touch alcohol. Don't recall ever feeling 'self-righteous' about it, though.
Ken - // Back in the day, my 'hangovers' lasted for days. But that's because my 'sessions' lasted for days. //

I am obviously speaking from a position of no experience here, but surely the two do not corelate?

I would suggest that whatever amount of alcohol is ingested, and there has to be a limit beyond which the ingester passes out, then that alcohol is processed out of the system within twenty-four hours?

Similar to lack of sleep, if i miss two night's sleep, it doesn't take me two days to get over it, anymore than three nights would take me three days.

My pattern is restored within forty-eight hours - for one night without sleep, or three.
"I am obviously speaking from a position of no experience here..."
Correct, Andy, you haven't a Scooby.
You obviously do not know any alcoholics.
Sorry about your head Bobbi. But it was obviously for a good cause. Wishing Mr B a fabulous birthday.

Not being a partaker of alcohol , except on very very rare occasions .

Could someone please explain to me what is the attraction of drinking so much that one wakes up with a head feeling like a military parade detail , 150 strong ,has just marched across it ?

It was worth it for the fantastic night I had , being with his side of a rather large family after not seeing them for so long, anyway , I wasn’t the pourer haha, headache has disappeared and I’m once again feeling good :0)
Hangovers are easily avoided. A pint of water and two Ibuprofen before going to bed does the trick.
Could you not have had a ''fantastc night " anyway ,without downing so much booze ?

Lol@Baz one night of fun in these dark days , actually yes I could but I chose to drink last night
I believe that people drink to relax their natural social inhibitions.

There has been a culture, fortunately now passing, where people bragged about the level of alcohol poisoning they had given themselves in pursuit of a 'good night ', but that seems to be dying out now.

I am fortunate, I have no social inhibitions, and can enjoy myself and be absolutely comfortable in social situations without needing to 'relax' first.
A drinking session now and again is fun. I hope you could sleep it off.
