Hive Software For Control Of Heating...!
4 Answers
“Why do I need to log in after changing thermostat batteries and after entering the requested 8 character new pass + verification code- you then change this pass to TWELVE characters. If I can find a new replacement software for my heating, I will be deleting yours. I have used hundreds of apps and even our Bank Account does NOT require 12 characters!“
Why did I have to endure all that nonsense after just changing thermostat batteries?
The above was my angry email to Hive Software “complaints” section.....To date I got no reply.
Do ABrs like me feel it’s ridiculous to have to use a 12 character password just for heating software?

The batteries usually last over a year so to put four extra digits in a password per year I think I could live with that. However if you wish to change then go ahead , not sure if the specification of an app with software will show how many digits are required though.
A number of PC applications I use at work need a log in password of at least 12 characters.
If you only consider the use of 26 characters (excluding case sensitivity), the number of possible 12 character combinations is almost one hundred thousand, million, million.
Just who do they think is going to hack the password?
