Don't think this should be a Sports question really, but can anybody tell me the connection between Harry Kane and Sweet Caroline (sung after Tuesday's game and brought tears to his eyes)? I've Googled but not found answer. Thanks.

Its jus ta song thats easy to sing and has been adopted by fans at several clubs. Just like Delilah for example and variations on Thats Amore

The England fans were singing Sweet Caroline during the 2018 World Cup, well before it was sung by any club fans. Here they are at Benidorm singing the National Anthem then Sweet Caroline before the Panama game.

Before that even, the Northern Irish football fans were singing it. Here in 2016 at the Euro finals in Lyon.
