Fingerprint Access

I cut my finger & had to put a plaster on it so now I can't get into my (android) phone. To change the settings you need to get into the phone - how would you do that if your finger had been amputated & lost! ?
(A friend had his hand mangled by a propeller & lost most of his fingers!)

Then they can add additional fingerprints to provide them with access in the future.
My old phone used a fingerprint reader. When I was on chemotherapy, the skin on my fingers developed lots of little creases, meaning that I struggled to get it to recognise me. I got into the phone by restarting it, then deleted the virtually useless fingerprint and started again but providing the phone with fingerprints from four different fingers, so that I stood a better chance of being able to get in thereafter.
My current phone uses facial recognition but, whenever I try to open it, it also offers me a keypad to enter my passcode as an alternative way of getting in. I've found that to be particularly useful in these days of wearing face masks a lot of the time!

Setup a passcode then swipe it up to enter.
I have this problem all the time with the building work I do. Nearly chopped my thumb off the other week with a table saw, luckily just chipped the bone and I dont use the thumb print.
At one place I worked we had a hand print and code. It was a real pain if you had a plaster as it needed both to get in.
