The answer could be Mainsails or Mainstays or something else. I really have no idea. Maybe the letters I have placed aren't all correct. If you can figure out the answer, I would be grateful for the explanation also. Thanks.

Mailshots would leave me with O _ E _, and I thought the answer might be Chef (taking 'I' out of Chief).
