are they releasing one or not? - hope its not as ugly as the console. the xbox 360 is a good machine at an ok price but its games would make a depressed goth run around the house singing barbara anne in dissapointment

If by handheld Xbox you mean a portable like the PSP or DS but one that'll play actual Xbox games then I'd be surprised.
The Xbox is essentially a PC and it's quite power hungry, they'll need to do so some spectacular engineering to get that thing down small enough to carry, and with enough battery power to last. The PSP battery doesn't last very long at all and that runs games almost on a par with the PS2.
Just take a look at laptops and how long their batteries last when playing a DVD.
Though I'm more than willing to be proved wrong.
