Is Brian Molko from Placebo really Scottish?

I heard that his mum lives in Dundee. This was in relation to a story about him being beaten up in the city, on a visit to see her. But I don't know if he was born there, or she just moved there.

Brian Molko was going to buy the flat upstairs from us. But he didn't, so I can't ask him (or listen to his accent as he passes our front door). Sorry!

He's at least half Canadian, or was brought up in Canada from a young age. Whatever, he certainly has a lot of Canada in him.

i thought he was swedish. he speaks with an american/canadian accent though... oh well...

Brian's mum is Scottish, his dad is American (not Canadian, but Brian also speaks French, which might account for his accent), and he was born in Belgium... if that's any help?

As per answer above.... Brian's father is American, mother is Scottish, Brian was born in Luxemburg, went to school in belgium (American school), college in London (where he met Stefan and is now also based in Lindon.
