On July 19th it will not be compulsory to wear face coverings. I am undecided on wearing them or not. What are people thinking about them ?.

Just to clarify some AB misinformati on, there are ample studies now to show that the wearing of medical and non-medical masks reduce the transmission of Covid and other droplet infections. This I association with space, trace and vaccination reduces the spread of this disease. Whether you believe it or not is up to you.

Hi William, you may have missed this and the other threads asking the same.

I've travelled by tube in London on the last couple of days and found maybe 30% of the passengers in my carrages not wearing one even though they're supposed to be compulsory and stay that way after July 19. I shall continue to wear mine indoors but not outdoors unless it's crowded. I've had two jabs but I am old and a bit vulnerable, and case numbers are on the up; I don't want to be among them
Many people around here will continue to wear them:

I'll probably be one of them (but I might drop my guard a bit in almost-deserted shops, etc).

I read your link Buenchico and wasn't surprised just over half said will continue wearing and just under half said won't be wearing. It's amzing now it has split the country, I won't be where I don't have to but if shops insist then I will, though it takes away our freedom of choice. As one person in the link said 'we must respect other people's choices', that's going to be the hard bit for some.
Where I'm not compelled to wear a mask, I will not wear one.
The permanently pious will nasally whine that I'm risking others, but that's total BS.
Where I am told to wear a mask, such as the tube (which I use a lot) I'll of course still wear one.
But if Tesco says I do need to wear one, and Sainbury's don't - I'll go to Sainsbury's.

Clarion.......the reason that we are heading for another spike is that the vaccine is not 100% effective, one third of the population has not been vaccinated and the compliance ofthe public is unsatisfactory (in my opinion ).
Not to mention keeping our fingers crossed that another virulent variant doesn't present itself.
