Am I Right To Be Angry Or Was My Wife Right To Do What She Did?

Me (31M) and my wife (30M) are in a huge argument over why she called animal control on my brother (let’s call him Sal). My wife has never liked my Sal’s wife because she was cheating on my brother with our cousin. My wife kicked the girl out of our house when they were living with us. This is my first time here so I don’t know how this works. The couple used to live with us but my wife got mad over the girl not helping out with anything and that she would sleep all day. She doesn’t let our kids play with their kids because she doesn’t like the little boy who is the same age as our daughter. (6). My wife is a HUGE animal lover and has a cat and a dog who get on my nerves. They’re well fed and behave like angels but I don’t want them near me so I have to go to another room. Well, last week Sal got a puppy for his son and daughter, but the son killed the puppy by throwing her on the floor and kicking her. The boy was laughing when the puppy was crying. The mom did nothing so I got *** off because my wife called Animal control and told them everything. She says that no one should treat animals like that even if a person doesn’t like animals. Now Sal has CPS after them also because their house is not in good conditions and the boy who was sent to a psychiatrist a short time back, is probably going to a foster home because his mom never supervises them enough. I am *** off at my wife for reporting them because that is MY BROTHER and I’m considering divorcing her. I just told my entire family what happened and she is no longer welcome. I feel bad for my brother now who has to go to court and pay a ticket. The wife is in jail and I am fixing to pay her bond. I am really angry at my wife! Would anyone have any advice on how I should start the divorce process?

I'd emigrate if I were you, away from the lot of them.

You, and your family seem unable to accept that what your wife did was correct, and dare I say, morally right. How could it be otherwise? It's not right that a child would kill a pet...even if he didn't mean to. The fact that he was violent is questionable and very worrying. And at his age, his parents are responsible for his behaviour. Obviously your family seems to believe that family comes before what's right. So they are ok with Sal and his wife's negligent behaviour...but what your wife did is wrong?
Sounds extremely dysfunctional.

Your wife did the correct thing by contacting the authorities. If a 3year old is not walking she needs medical attention. For a child to kill a pet in this way indicates serious problems with the child. I would not want my family around your brother, his wife or children. If your mother tolerates the behaviour you have portrayed she also needs help.
"By what your wife did" Have you not considered that what she did is necessary? Your sister in law is a danger. You've got a six year old nephew who doesn't seem to know the difference between right and wrong, and a three year old niece who seems to be eighteen months behind in development. Think carefully about thos: do you think that is acceptable? Do you care about those two kids? Does Sal? Your SiL clearly doesn't. You seem more interested in protecting the guilty than you do about doing right by those kids. Sort you damn priorities out.
