When and why did all this Prom business start? is it another Americanism? we were lucky if we came away from school with all our old school work.

Christmas 1962 I left school and started work almost straight away, a week off my 15th birthday, we left and sang the song, 'we break up we break down, we don't care if the school burns down', that was it, onto the next chapter in life.
2 days ago my great grandson had his graduation ......... wait for it ....... from his pre-school, he is not 4 until next month!

I hated school. I just remember walking out through the gates for the last time with my School Leavers Certificate (as it was called then) clutched in my hot little hand and flinging my arms wide while shouting out 'I'm freeeeeeeee'. Great feeling.

I'm still friends with a girl I met at school, aged 11, that was 64 years ago! We still meet up regularly

Margo I’m still good friends with 6 , 4 girls and two boys since we were 5 yrs old and just starting school ( and not through FB either) in the flesh so to speak:0)

I hated comprehensive school, loved junior school. Was relieved when it was over. The only good part was the school disco in ´75.
Only kept in touch with a mate i met when i was 11. Good riddance to the rest of them!!
