Wolf Whistling To Be Made Illegal!?
Have just heard on the news on the radio that they are trying to make it illegal for a man to wolf whistle at a woman!! Apparently its ‘against a woman’s human rights’. Don’t think I’ve ever heard anything so stupid in my life! I would blush and take it as a compliment. Your thoughts??

Re. the latter. It once happened to me in W.H.Smith's in Bradford (there were other occasions)but the forecast was for showers and I had a long, red, spikey brolly in my hand. Turning round, screaming and utilising said brolly to open and shut rapidly whilst jabbing the spike at the 2 perpetrators and forcing them out of the door worked a treat! I recommend it, ladies.
Seriously, there is harmless flattery and there is nastiness. I think I've just illustrated the division. Wolf whistles' can, sometimes, be annoying, but are not dangerous.

There are lots of reasons that men wolf whistle women, and only one of them is "nothing but a compliment". How a woman can figure out what's behind a particular whistle is anyone's guess.
So, much like other cases, it's more to do with how the recipient interprets it than how the whistler meant it. This is simply offering similar protections to woman to those already offered to ethnic minorities, the religious, the disabled and LGBTQ+.
