Diet For Endoscopy

Had an MRI scan to see if there was any change to my prostate cancer. It showed up a “Thickening of the colon. Got a endoscopy examination this Tuesday. Diet sheet doesn’t contain a lot of foods for day 1 or 2 before exam. Anyone have any first hand knowledge of foods are OK.

Is it a colonoscopy you’re having or some other type of endoscopy?
If it’s a colonoscopy you should have received, or will receive, a sheet of foods you can and can’t eat for two or three days before, and some stuff to take which will clear your bowels out to be taken 24 hours before the procedure.
If it’s not a colonoscopy then it’s not necessary. It may be a sigmoidoscopy, which doesn’t require the same bowel clearance, just some stuff up the bum at the hospital just before the procedure.

It’s a sigmoidoscopy I’ve had a sheet listing diet for day 1 & 2 before. Tea is ok but no milk. ( I drink tea with milk )Clear soup etc, and tablets to take 2&1 day before. Plus a device I have to administer myself. Is Oxtail soup classed as clear. There can’t be many clear soups. The only one I can think of is packet chicken noodle.
No, I don’t think oxtail is classed as clear, I believe it has some thickening in it. Packet minestrone with the bits sieved out is, and chicken noodle as you say.
In the digestive system milk turns into solids so that’s why no milk I believe.
I’ve had a flexi sig and a rigid sig. For the flexi sig I turned up at the hospital and was given an enema by a nurse just before I had the procedure so didn’t have to do anything myself. Can’t remember if I had a diet to follow before.
It’s an easy and straightforward procedure and shouldn’t be uncomfortable as the sigmoid gadget just goes up one side of the colon, rather than all the way round with a colonoscopy.
