My youngest son left home yesterday to join the Royal Navy.
He has been in training for months.
Thirty three military standard push ups, running like crazy, strong as an Ox, great team player, and, oh yes, a really nice person of whom I am so proud :-)
Just saying :-)

He married the daughter of Sir Rex Hunt, of Falklands fame.
I saw the wedding announcement in the DT in Paris - and then ran into them at an art auction here in Cornwall. "I'm presuming that to get to know your wife, you were stationed in P. Stanley before the Argies rudely came barging in? As such, were you captured by them?"
Typical of him at Uni as to his character, "Sorry to disappoint you, DTC, they were my troops but I was back in London for leave and a briefing."
