Why are kids assumed to just be a wimpy over sensitive brat when telling adults about their mental problems or abuse from their parents? Most of the time they just react with “You’re just an oversensitive brat. You don’t have mental problems, you’re just thin-skinned.”
May have been true in the past, but not so much now. There may be some adults who would still behave that way, but it is now I suspect a small minority, especially those with issues themselves.
Some might say that it's easy to play the game to get attention because others do only to develop a real problem.
Some others could see a major growth industry, like all those suddenly needing walking sticks a few years ago because they couldn't be harrassed getting up for work any more.
