morning all, i hope that you are all well and whatever you may have planned goes according to it. Dependent on what the weather does, i am off to another picnic with friends, who have organised one for each Sunday of August, all i have to do is show up with my little contribution. which isn't saying much i must say. But if its anything like yesterday, which was horrendous i am not sure what I will do.
The last time I was in the Big Smoke was 1972. What happened was, our Regiment was disbanded by the Labour government, while we were still in Malaysia, The most experienced regiment in the Royal Artillery! Still, we got an extra six weeks leave! :o}
what are you up to today Boaty? - its started raining, which i hoped would hold off... i don't know whether the picnic will go ahead if it's pouring with rain. or whether we repair to someone's flat....
i will go out around 11.45 and see if my friends are going to have their picnic after all, though if its belting down like yesterday, will have to rethink the plans.
Indeed we did Jack, but the previous labour government disbanded us while we were still on active service in Malaya, it was held off until we got back to UK. We were all entitled to six weeks ordinary leave, plus four weeks disembarkation leave, plus an extra four because they had no idea what to do with six hundred soldiers without a regiment.
