Truthfully Resigning
14 Answers
is it better to be honest (but tactful) if resigning because you believe there are mismanagement issues ? or lie tactfully?
I think better to lie tactfully and not burn bridges.
Husband thinks its a disservice to not let employers (ie the owners not the management) know the reason.
Owner (who is seldom here) would like to have a face to face with us about our reasons before we leave.

But we’re taking a risk n decided to resign anyway life is short and even if we don’t get this role then we do have enough capital to see us thru a spell without work. (Tho won’t last forever obv!!)
We own our own place (we rent it out for hols n it will be empty from oct onwards so we have somewhere to live in the meantime as obv our work always includes staff accom.
Me- I’m nervous of leaving without another job to go to but I see Husb point …. Life is short. He nearly died (sepsis / cancer) 4 years back n he doesn’t want to waste time . He’s been struggling with depression lately (on meds) and he hides it well from others but I see his point and figure it’s ok we will take a chance

Jno - no we won’t want to work there again but we will need a reference and…. The world of posh private estates is everyone (owners) knows each other or is even distantly related lol.
We really like the owners a lot…. It’s just the nepotism and mismanagement amongst the staff that is difficult.
Owners not often here so they don’t know. And staff job is to just get on with it not involve the owners (it’s normal in these sort of work circumstances)
