Anyone Know What This Cinema Advert Was Please???
7 Answers
Someone told me the answer to this about 10 years ago but I can't for the life of me remember (yet again) This time I promise I'll make a note ;) Anyway, it was an advert for alcohol (possibly spirits - southern comfort/bacardi?) It was a 90's advert I think. A crowd of people were having a party in a bar - dancing to music. There's a storm brewing outside (a hurricane) Everyone's having a brilliant time when the door to the bar flies open and a guy shouts "Great news everyone! The hurricane's over" It all goes quiet in the bar - everyone's unhappy. The guy then says "It is still raining though" At which point the music kicks up again and everyone continues partying.
The advert is on YouTube somewhere as I remember they posted a link to it and I watched it. Just can't find it again :(
TIA

I'm wondering if I posted it in two different places as I distinctly remember someone providing a link to the video on YouTube; however, the post on 'do you remember' just says they think it was Malibu. Have just looked through a load of Malibu adverts but it's not one of them. I think they also said it was from 1992 or thereabouts as I originally thought it was from the 80's but I didn't really start going regularly to the cinema until the 90's (watched "Ghost" many times there!!)
I could have sworn this was Southern Comfort due to it being set in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It starts with the storm battering the old wooden signs outside the bars as people rush in to shelter. You can see similar locations in these other Southern Comfort ads https:/ /www.is pot.tv/ ad/7OJS /southe rn-comf ort-new -orlean s), which is why I associate it with that drink but that doesn't mean I am correct. It could be for a completely different drink. I can't find it anywhere, though but I remember seeing it many, many times in the late 80s/early 90s. Was it definitely only at the cinema?
I was searching for this for a long time as well and I found this today. It’s not quite as I remembered but see what you think https:/ /www.ha tads.or g.uk/ca talogue /record /706931 67-76f5 -43dd-8 a3f-9cf 299784d 5e
