Rust bubbles on 2001 Mercedes

I have a friend who hasa 4 year old mercedes, maintained by mercedes,however has just found about a dozen Rust Bubbles from the door pillars, drivers door and roof, will mereceds accept liability????

I doubt it, not after 4 years. I imagine there is some sort of corrosion warranty but that will have conditions, best check the paper work and react accordingly.

my neighbour had an x reg e240 which had rust bubbling on the bottom of the doors and under the side window rubbers he had it sorted by a merc dealer under warranty (i believe it has a six year anti corrosion warranty).before he promptly got rid

check with mercedes and see what they say.

There is usualy a condition you have to adhere to on car corrosion guarantees.

The car must be inspected by a Mercedes garage once a year for corrosion, if this is not done and stamped in the service book it is not guaranteed.

The warranty is usualy for quite a few years, 12 in the case of a Renault.
