Care Home Prices

friend has left a Covid hospital to end up in isolation in Covid care home and hates this care home and so can't wait to get to her home.

She sent me an email last night to say that she because she is paying for this care home facility out of her own money - she wanted to be treated better than she has been - she spoke to somebody and it has worked etc.

Now I helped her to no ends for her to receive PIPs/DLA last Christmas and she won and got backdated. Surely receiving this benefit is supposed to make your life easier and pay for those comfort things.

I know so many people receiving this benefit and still they are wanting more and more monies. Me I can't fathom it.

Who's wanting more money, claimants or the care homes?

She is using her PIP/DLA to pay for those things, isn't she? Sadly those benefits won't go anywhere near the cost of a care home

people should be treated equally, not according to who is paying the bill IMHO. Wanting special treatment because you are using your own money, rather than the govt paying is wrong.

Does the level of care provided not depend upon the level of the fees rather than their source?
