I've seen a worktop I would like to order from B&Q (please see link) but it's unavailable for delivery!
I've just phoned them and managed to get through to someone who was obviously reading from a piece of paper, as every question I asked was met with the same reply which basically was, we don't deliver but she couldn't tell me why.
How do they expect you to buy large items if you don't have a van or know someone who does?
Just wondered if anyone else has come across this and perhaps know why they don't deliver?
You hire a man and van. I find Facebook good for that sort of thing although I could get that in my hatchback car with the back seat and passenger seat down
barry, thanks for the link, but that worktop isn't the right length or thickness. My daughters have bigger cars than mine, so I will ask them to measure the inside to see if it will fit. Thanks dave and barry.
I want to go to B&Q to look at it anyway, so I will ask the manager in the store. Or, they may have something similar that isn't shown online that they do deliver.
i once bought a heater/ fireplace, its the type that has fake coal in it, for the living room. they delivered it to down stairs, the driver said they wouldn't deliver to my door, so i had to lug it up 4 flights of stairs. so it doesn't surprise me if they don't deliver.
My sister works for Homebase, and someone ordered a garden shed. For whatever reason Homebase couldn't get the shed onto their delivery van. The shed was delivered by hand in the rain. The video is on YouTube and I can vouch 100% that it is not a wind-up. So maybe you should try them, Barsel?
