I guess this might have been better in motoring, Watching a re run of the last series of All Creatures Great and Small, James had to use a starting handle on his car, what was the last car in the UK to have this facility? i think i recall Morris Minors having them in the early 1970's , would there have been any later than this time?

Dr Google tells me that this would have been in 1998, with the Lada Niva.

(Cue: Lada jokes.)

Thank you
The Lada Niva is still in production, minus the crank handle, but although badged Lada the company is now owned by Renault
Morris Minors did have them, although maybe not later models.
The last Morris Minor was built in 1970
But who remembers using one ?

I do, on the old Vauxhall Wyvern our family ran in the early Sixties.

Although not a UK car I would think . LADA.
my morris minor in the 60s had a starting handle but was so reliable it was never used
I had several cars with duff batteries. No starting handle - I used to park at the top of a hill so I could get an easy "bump" start!
I used one on my first car - 1953 Rover 75.
My motorbike in the 70s had a kick starter. I don't think they even fit those any more.

(That's a cue for everyone to tell me I'm wrong)
Back in 2008, at least one AB member still had a car with a starting handle:

But that was a 2cv, so hardly ranks as a car.
