Kos town has more to see, ruins, castle and stuff.
As I said, it depends on what you want. If youre mid thirties you may be past the all night drinking, falling over in the street stage - or you may not be!!

Hi Mandimoo
I'm 28 and I've been to Kos many times, including this year. I also like a drink and a dance although unless you are into hanging around with teenagers and loads of drunks in their early 20's whilst trying to keep the pools of sick of your nice new shoes, you are going to the wrong place!
There is an ok beach there although there are much better ones on the island. Bubble beach or paradise beach as it's sometimes called is around 15 mins away although I would say the best beach on the island is at Tingaki.
Kos Town is great. Its very cosmipolitan although it is very pricey in comparison to the other resorts there are many boat trips from Kos town as well.
Hope you enjoy yourself
