Windows To Ipad

hi computer whizzes !
i am trying to transfer document file ( 16.7Kb ) from windows 10 to ipad .
i have followed various advice(s) online but no joy .
clear instructions gratefully received .. thanks .

There are all sorts of ways to do this but probably the simplest is to e-mail it to yourself when the file is tiny.
In Win10 attach the file to a blank message addressed to your own email address & send it.
On the iPad open your Mail application and save the attachment and Robert's your mother's brother.
(This does depend on your iPad being set up to use the same mail account as is on the Win10 machine.)
