We recently had an elderly relatives house rewired and on the bill it says non copper cable.
Can any one tell me what kind of cable was used if its nit copper

It's probably aluminium. It's cheaper than copper but it's not suitable for long distance runs (as it has a higher resistance) or for use in flex (as it's too brittle). However it's ideal for situations where it's to be used over relatively short distances and kept in a fixed position, such as when wiring homes.
