It rather depends on the nature of the thread - I do find it annoying when after someone has kindly posted a link (or more than one) to assist , the bleating for a link continues.
A link is very helpful but then again so is the use of plain English and not a lot of cobras or off the cuff mockney slang cluttering the place up, innit.

No, it clarifies what the person is talking about, especially in the OP. Although I do grant you it can be annoying when people ask for a link outside the OP.

I sort of see where you are coming from but I think you miss the point of asking the OP for the link and not another ABer. The problem with another ABer posting the link is that they too are guessing what the OP is referring to so it really doesnt help.
