Rental Agreement
I am shortly moving out of a privately rented house to aamother. The letting agent says I must pay a full months rent even if I give a months notice rather than a fraction up to expiry of the months notice. Is this normal?

Better to give a full months' notice on the day you pay your rent.
If you pay weekly and have to give four weeks notice then you only pay the remaining four weeks rent due, obviously.

you mention your rental agreement, but dont say what your rental agreement actually says on this subject.
It will also depend of corse what kind of agree ment you have - if it's a fixed term, you'll have to pay to the end of the contract, rather than say part way through thelast month no matter when you give your notice
