Firstly before anyone comments these don't bother me but has anyone else noticed how many new posters come on here with quite a wide range of social issues, many are teen angst but no all. It's been happening much more in the last few months and agreed it gives the armchair counsellors an interesting topic to comment on (have often joined in myself). How do these people find this site to pour out their hearts and also seem to know to post in B&S or society? How come so many seem to be in US? We don't get new posters from US in News do we. Do we all think they are real people?
It just interests me.

Andy it's an easy google search to find the metrics of AB, albeit a few years out of date. It does show in 2018 there was a 21% loss in traffic. I hazard a guess that has gone back up, especially with people being in lockdown and bored.

No you don’t Gulliver. You have an avid following of women with their handbags and perms out to get you !:-)
Never really knew what it was like to be popular until I joined Answer Bank, and now I feel like I am amongst so many friends and no one ever says a bad word about me. I am so gratefull.
At least you don't get ignored Gully lol!
17.02 Thats because I always make sensible posts APG.
Yes, every so often there does seem to be a flurry of new posters with rather strange questions. And it is has occurred to me that they could possibly be "plants" by the editorial staff or even one or two of the really long-time members of AB who may have a financial interest in the company and are attempting to drum up business. How's that for a conspiracy theory:)?...Hey, don't forget, truth is quite often stranger than fiction.
I got here by mistake, like, I suspect, many of us did.
I would rather look silly in trying to help someone... than show my "intelligence" by trying to show them up.
Even if that post isn't genuine... there may still be others, looking for similar answers.
I agree Pixie, though its often those who perceive to be 'above' the rest of us that stoop to insulting new members.
Gully 17.25 I find all your posts contain remarkable insight into the political crisis we have today in the UK. Your deep knowledge of all things political sometimes, literally, takes my breath away.
I think that Gulliver would make an excellent moderator, if he isn't already one.
I totally agree sanmac. I may just nod the wink to the ed when we next have coffee :-)
I would think there's more social issues arising due to lock downs, its not just the UK that have had lock downs. So may just be spreading their wings for some sort of social contact. Armchair counsellors are perhaps better for them than not one at all, and really don't have to act, or take any advice given. Regarding them not being in the news thread, why would they be that interested in our UK news?
Love the comment @ 11.10. Mind them long nails also.
