Thrown a wobler............

............ that's the only way I have to put it; I can open home page, from the icon on my desk-top but the icons and start menu button down in the task bar are inactive. (I've also just noticed the curser, although there; isn't flashing as per norm.)
Perhaps a coincidence but all this strange stuff started happening when my wife pluged the camera in to download some pix. Didn't get recognised at all, then started acting "strange" as described above. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Maybe some setting has been disturbed?

Clearly it's not completely locked up, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to post this message.
Is it possible that when you connected your camera you slightly dislodged the mouse or keyboard connection? Try unplugging securely replacing them.
