Blue Badge Confusion

i applied online for a Blue Badge for my son who has learning disability /autism.He receives PIP.They accepted his details and that he was eligable but said i had to apply on the "discretionary section" .I couldn't find this , they then told me " just tick box for long term condition" - again i could not find this.The only specfic question is " end date for award" which is 2026 for my son.I phoned again and this time they stated that there is a drop down menu at start of application which relates to non-mobility issues - again i cannot find this.They also claim that i wont have to upload documents again - but im not convinced as it wont let the page continue.I have been driven to complete and utter distraction by this

Each council has its own site for applications, which council is it?

I strongly suspect that it's a problem with your web browser. Try clearing its cache. (Tell us which browser you're using if you need instructions). Alternatively, simply try a different browser.

birmingham council using chrome browser.I seriously don't think it is browser related but will try with mozilla

Tried Mozilla , same There is absolutely nothing hidden disabilities. These are the questions they ask .
Are they severely sight impaired (blind)?
Do they receive any of these benefits?
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement
None of these benefits

Have you got to the bit about his PIP points score? (If so, what did you enter there? I'm trying to emulate what you've been doing)

yeh did that he had the highest score (btw the council never mentioned this particular section)

I've just entered 12 points. (I then clicked the option not to save my details as I progress, which bypassed the need to enter my email address and date of birth, but I can't see that it will matter anyway). I then got to a page that simply asked me to provide the relevant details and to upload the letter from the DWP. (Screenshot here: https://ibb.co/ByG21ZT ).

So it appears that there's absolutely no need to provide any information about your son's condition. The DWP letter, indicating a 12 point score, is all that's needed.

@Buenchico - i did submit the DWP letter.Just been in contact with a Autism charity and they're not famiilar with the process

As I see it, the system has simply changed, with nobody at Birmingham CC becoming aware of it.
