How To Destroy Cd's

I've quite a few CD's that have personal info on them that I know longer need.
Is there a way to destroy them?
Just tried my paper shredder and nearly broke it!

Wrap in a towel (to stop pieces flying everywhere) & keep bending until it snaps.

Just warm it on a stove top and bend out of shape.

Cut them with big scissors.

As I have bad arthritis in my hands, I have no strength to cut or bend them.
My daughter is coming tomorrow, I'll ask her if she can cut them .
Not sure I have scissors strong enough though.

Stick them in a recycle bin, or why not give to your local charity shop?

Sandpaper can be effective. The discs rely on reflection to work and scratches wreck the reflection. The scratches need to go around the disc ie, not radially, as the software copes with radial scratches. Test it in your CD player afterwards.

Not recommended to sand them indoors, wear a mask too , you don't want to inhale foil dust.

Just drill half a dozen holes through each disk - carefully!

You might try pealing off data layer with packing tape.
