Barsel, The lady in the picture is actress Mabel Normand, who was the first ever to throw a custard pie in a movie. 1913 I believe. The avatar came to me courtesy of my ABer friend, the very brilliant mibn2cweus. :o)

Oh I wondered who it was. Obviously someone from the silent film era but have never heard of her so that's why I've never known who it was.

The idea came from a time years ago when the Religion & Spirituality section was very busy and some fantastic discussions had there. The most that was ever thrown between regulars was a proverbial custard pie. I consider it quite an accolade to be awarded one of my own. :o)
