It is fairly "easy" to do but the consequences after can be pretty harrowing. Your credit will be impaired for 6 years after. People see it as an easy way out but it is rarely the correct thing to do. Seek advice - CAB will help for free and may approach the creditors on your behalf.

You have to pay to become bankrupt, over �300, so you need to spend this amount to go bust.

As already suggested see the CAB first.
