Took me six days! That's the amount of time i spent in hospital waiting for a stent to be inserted after a heart attack in 2009. Wasn't allowed off the ward, no chance of going outside for a crafty fag so i decided i had quit them. The acid test came when i was discharged and around people who smoked. Weirdly, i never got the cravings despite having smoked for almost 40 years.

There’s no answer to how long it’ll take but you’ll feel so much better if you stick with it, you’re clothes and hair won’t stink and you’ll taste what you’re eating , good luck

I used to smoke really heavilly But I gave it up years ago [18 years]. I just really stuck at it. I remember sitting next to someone on the bus and they stank of cigarettes. I realised that I must have smelled like that. Cigarettes disgust me now, but only a Ocasionally I think I would like one, but I never have. Stick at it, and they are really expensive now. You will be able to breathe again. Good luck.
