A middling FOUR out of seven on the grown-ups quiz for me this week:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-59068165

There are several nice and easy questions in the junior quiz this week. (Well, it is designed for kids, after all!). Despite that, I was once again 'middling', with THREE out of five:

I seem to be stuck in the middle generally, in fact. I scored FIVE out of ten with the dreaded Timed Teaser (which seems to have caused so much consternation here since I introduced it into things a few weeks ago!):

So, with all my 'middling' performances this week, it should be easy enough for you to beat me but equally possible for you to score lower than me. Which will it be, I wonder? ;-)

Catching up with the latecomers, as usual . . .

Well done with that 6 and 4, Piggy! Nearly perfect! Not once but twice! [I think it might be best if I halted my comments about your scores there though!]
;-)

Not the highest of scores, maybe, Rocky, but at least you managed to steer clear of total disaster ;-)

Well done with that 6, Rowanwitch. Anything above half marks in the timed quiz has to be considered good, in my opinion!
;-)
3/7 and 2/5. Nowt to say, is there?
Question Author
Trying to hide your scores by posting late, 10CS?
;-)

Actually, they're not too bad really. They both constitute what I think of as 'bare pass marks' (not to be confused with bare årse marks though).
:o)
Bit late this week
Went to Cardiff to see our boys slaughtered by the All Blacks.
OK we lost, but it was a privilege to watch them

Some decent scores there, Haras2! (7 on the timed quiz is particularly impressive. It's been catching a lot of people out since I introduced it here!).

I hope that Shady won't have his slumbers disturbed too much by trick-or-treaters knocking on your door all evening. (For the past 30 years, I've always gone out on Halloween, often having a meal in a supermarket café about 35 miles away from here, then doing a bit of window shopping in the neighbouring shops. However, because it's Sunday, I can't do that this year, so I'm staying in. I've put a big tub of sweets on a chair on my garden path, with a sign asking children to take some but not to knock on my door, but I don't know how well my strategy will work!)

Another late, latecomer!

Hiya, Patsy! You seem to be marginally better at being a kid this week than at being a grown-up ;-)
Haha..
Story of my life, Buen. :-)

It makes two of us, Patsy ;-)
Hallowe'en
Sadly Buenchico all the children who grew up along the lane have left and all we get is occasional grandchildren

It seems to be fairly quiet around here at the moment too, Haras2. As I type, I can hear only the second group of kids (with accompanying adults, thankfully) going past my house. I'll wait a short while before nipping out to see if the tub of sweets needs topping up. (That's if I can shift a sleeping Moonbeam off my knee, that is!)
