Ggt Is It Really Of No Importance?

It was noted last year that my (LFT'S) Liver Function Tests were abnormal.
By Christmas Eve, they had gone so high, I was admitted to hospital for a few days.
The GGT which I believe should be 6-42 had gone up to 2062 and although I've had different tests, they haven't found out why this happened.
The last time the GGT was tested, it had come down to 365, that was in September and my GP doesn't feel it is important to test it again as he said it isn't something they don't take into account.
I'm not sure what he means by that and so I wanted to ask is it really of no importance?

Sqad, on July 29th you said.

I did have further blood tests on Aug 2nd, Aug 25th and Sept 10th
The results of the GGT were 1574, 928, 365, and because they are coming down, my GP said they don't need to be checked again as they are coming down and are not taken into account anyway.
This is what I can't understand, why is the GGT not taken into account?
What would happen to my liver if it shot up again like it did last Christmas and I didn't know it was doing that again?

I disagree with the GP as one cannot just ignore an abnormal result, retesting should be the rule even only for the reassurance of the patient .

Sqad, if you come back to me, how often do you think I should have a blood test?

Barsel, I wouldbe interested in my bloods being taken every six months until the significance of that raised GGT becomes apparent....or not as the case may be
