Disappointed Tonight.

We should have been going out for a belated birthday dinner for my daughter. Her birthday was last month but they were in Greece.
We were going to Kate Humbles place the "Pig and Apple"
But SIL came home ill from work yesterday. He hasn't been out of bed yet as he feels awful. Says he feels as bad as when he had covid a while back. He did a test but it was negative last night. He will do another.
But it was too risky to go out even without him, as you never know with family contacts.
So it's on the back burner for another time.

(Surprisingly cheap though. Places serving 'designer burgers' around here often charge nearly double those prices).
I hope that your SIL will make a quick recovery and that you'll all be able to enjoy a meal together soon.
I was planning to go to a big firework display tonight. (It's the main one in Ipswich, which usually has about 10,000 spectators). I used to go every year but I've missed out on it for more than a decade, due to a mixture of other commitments, low finances, health, bad weather. However I think that I must be getting old. I simply couldn't face the hassle of driving into town, finding somewhere to park, waling to the venue and then trying to remain Covid-safe all evening. So I've stayed in and been here to reassure the cats when fireworks have been going off around here tonight.

>>> For many years, Chris, I spent nights in our cattery singing and chatting to cats to keep them calm and happy
That must have kept the men in white coats busy, Gness ;-)
>>> Fireworks are banned in Ireland
It's a pity that not all football fans in Ireland are aware of it though:
