Drawing Pad

Hi, my daughter would like an electronic drawing pad so she can get her drawings online /electronically. WHat sort of software would a drawing pad be used with?
and if you can, can you also recommend a drawing pad?

I assume that 'electronic drawing pad' = 'graphics tablet' here.

Graphics tablets can be used with photo editing software (such as Photoshop or Gimp) as well as with painting programs (such as Corel Painter) and drawing ones (such as Autodesk Sketchbook). See here:

It should be noted though that many artists and designers now prefer to use tablets (such as iPads or Android devices) in preference to computers with graphics tablets, as the former allows a user to draw directly onto a screen, whereas using a graphics tablet requires one to look up at a monitor while drawing on a desk-based surface.

The last three on the reviews link that Buenchico posted have display panels so it is like using a tablet or iPad but are more specialised for drawing.
I would choose the Wacom One but if I were a serious artist I would splash out on the Wacom Cintique 16

thanks both. she is 9 and not a serious artist/animator, but she does have a flair for art and enjoys it. She doesnt have an i pad, but does have a laptop. TBH i thnk i need a beginner type one to see how she gets on with it before spending too much

For a 9-year-old, Tux Paint might be ideal software. (It's free and compatible with a graphics tablet):
