Unless the device is a 24 hour clock. And anyway, it must be a more difficult and lengthy task to advance a clock eleven hours than turn it back one.

Only my oven. I have instructions which have been translated in a similar manner to the Japanese contact who Tony Hancock had in the episode "The Radio Ham". ("It is ahh raining not here then also"). I usually just switch it off and on again at midnight. But I don't advance any of my time pieces by eleven hours to save me the trouble of turning them back by one.
