It's Surprising Where Things Turn Up.

Just dropped something on the kitchen floor which rolled under the fridge.
Couldn't reach it, so had to pull the fridge out and found;
Half a broken side plate, a dessert spoon, a crinkle chip and a dried up pea!
Don't know how I didn't realise half a plate was missing, but have been looking everywhere for that spoon and thought I must have accidently thrown it out.
Next time you lose something in the kitchen, you know where to look.

PP I would say 'Lost things turn up when you're not looking for them' or 'Lost things turn up in the most unlikely places.'
Still looking for the remote from my sound bar.
Having seen it for days.
Probably slipped down the side of my chair but I can't feel it.

I have found that if you drop a tablet on the floor you never see it again (I take quite a lot). I had a new cooker a while ago and I took a photo of the tabs under the cooker. There were a lot!
