Where To Go For Winter Sun In October

Hello everyone.
Me and my husband are having our 1st holiday with just the 2 of us at the end of the month .
Can anyone recommend (affordable) destinations for a week away .
I’ve been close to booking Crete and also Tenerife .
Has anyone been to Crete this time of year ...was the weather ok?
Also the only thing holding me back from the tenerife holiday is the very close volcanic activity going on ...am I silly to be worrying about it ?...
has anyone got any other suggestions ?

Cumbre Vieja isn't on Tenerife; it's on La Palma. If you want to get further away still, head for Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura or Lanzarote.

Sunset is roughly an hour later in Gran Canaria than Crete if that's important to you - it will be around 18:40 in Crete towards the end of the month.

Try Almeria, southern Spain, we love it we usually got to Mojacar

very warm at this time of year, we plan to go there again in May, very unspoilt!

Aah Jennyjoan. I hadn’t seen your comment and we booked a week in Fuertenventura and it was fab.
it was quieter than the other Canary Islands we’ve been to but it was perfect for this holiday .
we stayed in Calle de Fuste which has a gorgeous beach. The weather was still very warm and we could still enjoy the hotel pools and the sea . we hired a car for a couple of days and explored the island including a hike to the top of Calderon Hondo and visiting more gorgeous beaches .
I paid extra for a sea view room where we could watch the sunrise from our bed every morning . ❤️

Hi Jenarry - just saw your recent post - glad you liked Fuerteventura - my friend had told me to go this apartment Lobos Bahai - horrendous - all I could do was smell the p of the plastic mattresses. Then we were only 4 days when I slipped on water (pool outside the door) and broke crown, shoulder and ankle and so I will never forget that nightmare - as I had to go on until the following Saturday and I swore I will never be aware again and neither I have.
