My cars lights come on automatically when it goes dark or if I go under a bridge etc.
This is because I leave the light switch on auto, but when the lights come on I don't know if they are dipped, full , or just side lights and I can't find my manual.
Do the lights adjust automatically or do I have to do something else?
It's a 2019 Kia Venga. TIA

I would imagine if its on auto, it's via a sensor, and would adjust accordingly. ???
The main headlights come on at dipped beam in the auto function.

Would the dipped beam show on the screen and would it be green or orange?
I think I may have just driven home with it on just the sidelights.
If you've just driven home (and it was dark), the lights would have automatically come on dipped.
If it was light enough, your car would have had the DRLs on (daylight running lights).
Wouldn't you have noticed if no headlights were on and it was dark (ie you wouldn't have been able to see much at all)?
My car shows no warning light on the dash if just dipped beams are on...just a blue warning light when on main beams.

gingerbee ///Wouldn't you have noticed if no headlights were on and it was dark///
No, because my journey was on mainly well lit roads and streets and it was rush hour.
When I was stopped in traffic and at lights, I could see my lights shining on the back of the car in front, but didn't know what they were on, i.e side lights dipped etc.
I will have to get someone to stand in front of my car while I try different switches just in case I have to drive at night again.
My lights go onto dipped if the light fails or when it gets dark. They go to dipped if It’s raining and I switch on the wipers. Green indication on dash. High beam is manual on stalk Blue indicator on dash. All on Auto selection. DRLs on as default on Auto setting.
You don't need someone to stand in front of your car to check. You just get out and look.

I tried that, but I can't see the difference.
Someone standing in front of the car can see what's changed.
I even parked in front of a fence, but I still can't see the difference.
Dont forget to switch them on manually in fog..auto dont always work if its daytime.
if somone standing in front of the can see them, why cant you?
You might need to have the ignition on for some of the lights to come on. That might be why you can't see a difference.
