Cancun is famous as a spring break destination; fortunately your DD should miss that. Lots of activities and day trips to places like Chichen Itza. It does look as if the weather's going to be wet and stormy over the next week, though.
Haha! Stay away then, APG. I doubt anyone would ever offer to pay you to go there so you're quite safe.
Pasta, The nearest I ever get to Cancun is flying in and out of the airport and by-passing the town in taxis to and from my hotel further down the coat, but I know it's lively. Lots of Americans go there, especially young Americans. Beautiful turquoise waters, fabulous beaches, lots of nightlife. Perfect if that's what your daughter wants.
I went to Cancun in 2001 at the tender age of 24. It wasn't for me then and certainly wouldn't be now. However I'd give my right arm right now to be relaxing on a beautiful beach somewhere, the sun beating down on me, the swim up bar not 20m away.
Your daughter is very lucky and I hope she has a splendid time.
13.30 Naomi.. "Haha! stay away then, APG. I doubt anyone would ever offer to pay you to go there so you're quite safe"....... You're coming across as a really nasty person again Naomi... you really are....
Well done to her for not letting all of the red tape stopping her. Travelling is a bit of a nightmare what with PCRs, attestations, LFs, PLFs. I think that is the idea though..
I plan to take as many holidays and breaks away as I can reasonably afford next year. The last time I flew anywhere was 2019. I intend to make up for lost time and for all the hard work I've done in the last couple of years.
I think the Rat will be old enough next Christmas to appreciate a Christmas market too so will explore doing one of the lovely Christmas markets in Europe. OH wants to take him to NY when he's about 10 to see how Christmas is done over there.
