I have read the reviews for this new production and wonder if it might be a little TOO new as an introduction to opera? Cowboy outfits? Elvis costumes? Neon lights and onsies?

They're not easy to come by, but a slightly more traditional Carmen might be more enjoyable for Bobbie. Maybe look out for a live screening from Royal Opera Hose or the Met perhaps?
