Good morning, answers would be appreciated for 1 and 3, and confirmation for
2, 4, 5. Thanks in advance. I wrote to the Telegraph to report that the list of letters has not been sent.
Cryptic Connections
In a Cryptic Connections puzzle, five cryptic crossword clues must be solved; their answers can be made from the list of letters given underneath. Once all the clues have been solved, some letters will be unused; these can be arranged to give a word or phrase that links the answers to the five clues.
1 Almost disastrous, heading for right room (7)
2 Something sung in a state ... or two? (8) CAROLINA
3 Strike tramp (5)
4 Sound hooter with one inside (5) NOISE
5 Delight as pedant exposed (6) PANTED

To enter, please email the five clue answers and connection, together with your name and postal address and with a subject line of 'Newsletter', to [email protected], to arrive by 9am on Friday, November 19.
